Each Greenjacket installation is custom-tailored to the equipment being protected. Instead of just selling protective covers, Cantega's power system professionals work closely with each Utility to implement complete, turnkey systems that reduce animal-caused faulting and increase system service reliability.
Step 1: Site Assessment to Pinpoint Outage Risks
Cantega's technical staff work with Utility personnel to conduct a Site Assessment that will identify all significant risk points and risk modes. The Utility is encouraged to contribute information about outage histories and the presence of different animal species. Information on animal activity can be particularly helpful in designing effective, integrated solutions.

Once the Site Assessment is complete, Cantega uses the information to develop a customized Site Protection Plan. The Site Protection Plan is a detailed document that makes recommendations for protecting the installation. Each Site Protection Plan is developed in accordance with the Utility's specific design and operating standards.
The Site Protection Plan includes the recommended location of each cover to be installed, and the specific Greenjacket covers to be used. The proposed solution is typically a combination of stock items and custom-designed Greenjacket covers. Cantega's unique manufacturing technology allows the precise, rapid fabrication of custom-designed covers at prices and turnaround times that are attractive to customers. The result is cost-effective protection against animal-caused faults and outages.

When an order is received, the required custom covers (if any) are manufactured, then all covers are packed into well-organized shipping boxes and shipped along with a copy of the Site Protection Plan. Detailed installation instructions for each type of cover are also provided.
Although customers may choose to self-install, on-site installation training and/or installation services are provided on request.
From start to finish, Cantega works with Utilities to provide reliable, effective wildlife outage mitigation systems. In installations where wildlife-caused outages have decreased power system reliability, Greenjacket protective covers can:
