One animal-generated fault on a bushing, especially a substation transformer bushing, can take down a large section of a power system. For this reason, Utilities that protect bushings from animal contact can look forward to a substantial return on investment.

Cantega's Greenjacket bushing covers are:
- Dielectric and physical barriers that, once properly installed, can't be penetrated by beaks or claws
- Solid barriers that cannot be clogged with debris

- Designed to work with Greenjacket bushing base and sightglass covers to ensure that oil levels remain visible in oil-filled bushings
Greenjacket bushing covers are available in a range of cover styles, dimensions, and port configurations. Cylindrical and rectangular-shaped covers (ideal for bolted connections on transformers) are both available, and custom covers can be quickly and economically produced.
Once installed, covers are held in place with simple push fasteners. Fastener holes are pre-drilled for rapid, easy installation, with no special tools required.
If bushing measurements are known, skirts can be pre-trimmed to fit. Greenjacket bushing covers can sit on the top skirt of the bushing or be installed over the top skirt. To maintain the full BIL rating of the associated insulator, the cover must not bridge any additional insulator flights.

Cantega produces a line of sightglass covers and bushing cover bases for use with oil-filled bushings. These covers provide a firm foundation and snug fit for the main bushing cover to sit on. The result is solid, gap-free coverage that leaves the oil sight line clear. Covers will not sag over time.
